Tips for generating keys
Use cryptographically secure randomness (Web Crypto / CSPRNG).
Longer keys are not a substitute for correct algorithms and storage.
Never commit private keys or paste them into tickets/chat.
Rotate keys on a schedule and after suspected exposure.
Demo keys generated here are for learning, not production.
Random key material in the browser
Processing stays in your browser — your input is not uploaded to our servers.
This mints random bytes you can use as demo secrets, HMAC keys, or fixture tokens. It is not a hardware HSM and it does not wrap keys for production KMS.
Copy the value into the system that will actually store it. Refreshing this tab forgets it.
Generate a key
Choose the length you need
Match the algorithm: 32 bytes for AES-256, more for some HMACs.
Generate
Use the browser RNG. Do not type a memorable phrase as a “key”.
Store it elsewhere
A password manager or secret store — not a screenshot and not this page.
Key generator FAQ
Is this an RSA key pair?
No. This is random symmetric material. Asymmetric keys belong in the RSA demo or a real toolchain.
Can I reuse one key everywhere?
No. One key per purpose. Compromise of a shared key sinks every consumer.
Does the key upload?
No. Generation is local.
