Tips for DNS lookups
DoH results reflect Cloudflare’s view — not your local resolver cache.
Check A and AAAA separately when dual-stack matters.
MX and TXT often power mail and domain verification.
CNAME chains may need a second lookup on the target name.
DNS answers can be delayed by TTL; Refresh after changes.
DNS records via DNS-over-HTTPS
The hostname is sent in a DNS-over-HTTPS query (Cloudflare DoH). Answers may differ from your ISP resolver.
The tool queries Cloudflare’s DoH endpoint for A, AAAA, MX, TXT, and other types so you can see what the public resolver returns — not necessarily what your office resolver would.
The hostname you type is sent in that DNS query. Use names you are operating or debugging.
Look up DNS records
Enter a hostname and record type
example.com plus A is the usual start; MX and TXT for mail and verification.
Run DoH
TTL and rdata are what the resolver answered now, including CDN anycast differences.
Copy the records you need
TXT strings for domain verification are easier to paste than a screenshot.
DNS lookup FAQ
Is this my ISP’s DNS?
No. It is Cloudflare DoH (cloudflare-dns.com). Answers can differ from a local recursive resolver.
Does the hostname stay private to this page?
The name is sent to the DoH service. That is how DNS works.
Why no records?
NXDOMAIN, the wrong type, or DNSSEC/resolver errors. Try A and AAAA separately.
