Tips for phone validation

Prefer E.164 storage (+ and country code).

Format validity ≠ reachable number.

Account for leading zeros and trunk prefixes per country.

Keep the raw input and the normalized form.

Use SMS/voice verification when you need proof of possession.

Phone-shaped strings, not carrier lookup

Processing stays in your browser — your input is not uploaded to our servers.

The check looks at digits, separators, and an optional country code. It does not call the number or query HLR.

Normalize to E.164 in your app if you need to store a canonical form.

Validate a phone number

  1. Paste the number

Include the country code if you have it. Local 7-digit formats are ambiguous.

  2. Read the format result

A pass means the shape is plausible, not that it rings.

  3. Store a canonical form in your system

This page is a helper, not your user database.

Phone validator FAQ

Will you SMS the number?

No. There is no SMS gateway here.

Is the number uploaded?

No. Validation is local.

Why did a real number fail?

Missing country code or extra text. Strip words like “ext.” and try E.164.
