Tips for email validation

Format checks are not proof the mailbox exists.

Allow modern TLDs and plus-addressing when your product needs them.

Normalize case carefully — local-parts can be case-sensitive.

Do not over-restrict valid RFC addresses unless UX requires it.

Confirm delivery with a verification email for sign-up flows.

Email shape, not an inbox probe

Processing stays in your browser — your input is not uploaded to our servers.

This checks whether a string looks like an email (local part, `@`, domain). It does not send mail, ping MX, or prove the mailbox exists.

Use it to catch typos in forms before a real confirmation email goes out.

Validate an email string

  1. Paste the address

The value from the form, including plus-tags if users use them.

  2. Read the result

A pass is syntax. `notanemail` fails; `user@localhost` may pass depending on the rules.

  3. Confirm out-of-band if it matters

Ownership still needs a token email or SSO — this page cannot do that.

Email validator FAQ

Does a green check mean the inbox exists?

No. Only the string format. MX and mailboxes need a server-side check.

Is the address uploaded?

No. Validation is local.

International domains?

Support depends on the pattern. Punycode domains may need conversion first.
